About
My name is John H. Doe. Really. My (personal) blog is here. I exist. But that is beside the issue, as far as this site is concerned.
What I could tell you is that I am a software engineer who discovered this really cool hobby of cleaning and collecting ancient coins. At first, I ordered a single Roman coin from the Johnson Smith catalog, and it was tiny. But it was so cool to hold something that was so old, that was in use so far in the past. Then I thought about getting a starter kit with several uncleaned coins, and then I discovered VCoins.com — and man, I was hooked. I ordered a denarius that Jesus Christ Himself talked about in Matthew 22 (“Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s” and all that). And I did order a starter kit, “Dirty Old Coins”, which had some rather crappy specimens. But I didn’t stop there.
Join me as I discover what it is to render plain what has been caked in centuries of dirt. And pick up a few more or less shiny ones that have enough to pique my sense of aesthetics, or history. This is so great….
